West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection This mailing is to advise the public that we have received an application for Permit Amendment Application of permit S500811 for CENTRAL APPALACHIA MINING, LLC, PO BOX 1169 265 HAMBLEY BLVD, PIKEVILLE, KY 41502. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT CENTRAL APPALACHIA MINING, LLC, PO BOX 1169, 265 HAMBLEY BLVD., PIKEVILLE, KY 41502, HAS SUBMITTED AN APPLICATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION (DEP), DIVISION OF MINING AND RECLAMATION (DMR) LOCATED AT 1101 GEORGE KOSTAS DRIVE, LOGAN, WV 25601, FOR AN ARTICLE 3 PERMIT FOR THE SURFACE DISTURBANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 640.37 ACRES IN ORDER TO SURFACE MINE (THE AMENDMENT APPLICATION ADDS 245.09 ACRES TO THE ORIGINAL APPROVED 395.28 ACRES FOR A TOTAL OF 640.37 TO INCLUE AN ACREAGE LIMITATION VARIANCE) IN APP SPLITS AND RIDERS OF THE ALMA, UPPER CEDAR GROVE, MIDDLE CEDAR GROVE, LOWER CEDAR GROVE, AND WILLIAMSON SEAM OF COAL. THE PROPOSED OPERATION IS DISCHARGING INTO UNNAMED TRIBUTARIES OF/AND MILLSEAT BRANCH OF GRAPEVINE CREEK; UNNAMED TRIBUTARIES OF/AND WOLFPEN FORK OF GRAPEVINE CREEK; AND UNNAMED DIRECT TRIBUTARIE SOF GRAPEVINE CREEK OF THE TUG FORK RIVER AND IS LOCATED 3.4 MILES, NORTHEAST OF EDGARTON IN MAGNOLIA DISTRICT OF MINGO COUNTY. The permit is located in Mingo County, Longitude 82° 4´ 54.0000" Latitude 37° 34´ 57.0000" (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
