West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection This mailing is to advise the public that we have received an application for Surface Mine Application of permit S300121 for CORNERSTONE MINING, LLC , 150 COURTHOUSE RD. , PRINCETON, WV 24740. This permit is to operate a 110.52 acre surface mine with contour, highwall/auger mining methods in the Elkhorn District of McDowell county, 0.5 miles southwest of Switchback, WV. The permit discharges into the unnamed tributaries of/and Elkhorn Creek of Tug Fork River of Big Sandy River. Seam of coal to be mined is the Poca 6. The permit is located in McDowell County, Longitude 81° 23´ 37.0000" Latitude 37° 21´ 59.0000" (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
